Why Columbia Continues to Be One of Missouri's Best Places to Live, Work, and Invest
A look at the growth, opportunity, and quality of life that continue to make Columbia a destination for residents, businesses, and investors across Missouri.
When I arrived in Columbia as a student at Mizzou, I never expected I would spend more than a decade of my life there.
Like many people, I originally came for school. What kept me there was something different.
Columbia has always felt like a community with momentum. It has the energy of a growing city, the stability of a regional economic hub, and the sense of community that can be difficult to find in larger metropolitan areas. Over the years, I watched Columbia continue to evolve while maintaining many of the qualities that made it special in the first place.
Today, Columbia serves as the heart of Mid-Missouri.
Its central location, strong economy, world-class university, healthcare systems, and diverse business community have made it a destination for people from every corner of the state. Whether someone is looking to build a career, start a business, pursue higher education, or raise a family, Columbia offers opportunities that are difficult to match elsewhere in Missouri.
The Best of Both Worlds
One of Columbia's greatest strengths is its ability to bridge urban and rural Missouri.
Within minutes, residents can move from a thriving downtown district and SEC university atmosphere to productive farmland, recreational properties, river corridors, and small communities that define the character of Mid-Missouri.
As someone who has spent much of my career working with landowners, farmers, businesses, and property owners throughout Missouri, I've come to appreciate how unique that balance truly is. Columbia provides access to the amenities and opportunities of a larger city while remaining connected to the agricultural heritage and outdoor lifestyle that make this region special.
That combination continues to attract families, professionals, entrepreneurs, investors, and retirees alike.
A Region Positioned for Growth
The growth taking place throughout Boone County and the surrounding region is difficult to ignore.
New businesses continue to invest in the area. Residential development remains active. Demand for commercial properties, investment opportunities, farmland, and recreational land continues to grow. More people are discovering what longtime residents have known for years: Mid-Missouri offers a quality of life and economic opportunity that is increasingly hard to find elsewhere.
Columbia's role as an educational, healthcare, and business center positions it well for continued growth in the years ahead. While no market is without challenges, the long-term outlook for the community remains strong.
Why We're Investing in Columbia
That belief is one of the reasons we recently launched the Central State Team with Trophy Properties & Auction.
Our vision is simple: provide property owners throughout Columbia and Mid-Missouri with access to one of the most powerful real estate and auction platforms in the state while delivering local expertise and trusted guidance.
Whether it's residential real estate, commercial property, farmland, recreational land, or auctions, we believe clients deserve professionals who understand both the local market and the broader opportunities available throughout Missouri.
Looking Ahead
Columbia played a major role in shaping much of my adult life. The relationships, experiences, and opportunities I gained here helped define both my personal and professional journey.
As Columbia and Mid-Missouri continue to grow, we're excited to be part of that next chapter.
The future remains bright for this community, and we look forward to serving the people, businesses, landowners, and investors who make Columbia such a special place to call home.
